A Modern Wedding Venue in Charlottesville VA

Erika and John found an ideal intimate wedding venue in Charlottesville VA. Old Metropolitan Hall combines old and new for a unique approach to modern weddings. These photos are a great example of the artistry that’s possible at this venue.

Modern Wedding Venue in Charlottesville VA: Old Metropolitan Hall

Erika and John chose a wedding venue in Charlottesville VA that balances modern and historic details. Old Metropolitan Hall is located amid the historic buildings of Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall. The charming old-fashioned storefront helps it blend into the neighborhood’s atmosphere.

The interior is decidedly different. Without clashing with the historic neighborhood, the space is designed to feel fresh and modern. A wall of mirrors reflects ample natural light in the ceremony space. The reception area includes a classic black and white dance floor and warm wood features.

Old Metropolitan Hall is ideal for a small to midsize wedding with capacity for up to 80 guests. It’s a good space for mingling with your closest people. Depending on your wedding date, the rental fees at Old Metropolitan Hall range between $1,950 and $3,950. That puts it on the more affordable end of the spectrum for Charlottesville wedding venues.

Creative Wedding Photos

As a photographer, I loved working in this wedding venue in Charlottesville VA. The space is relatively minimalist and well-lit. It also has some cool features that make taking photos a lot of fun.

The wall of mirrors was a great element to experiment with during the ceremony. Take the photo of Erika walking up the aisle, for example. Typically, you only get to see the groom’s reaction in a photo like this. Thanks to the mirror, you also see the joy on Erika’s face. It’s dynamic and tells more of the story of that moment.
