Spring Wedding in NC Mountains

Once in a while, I have the honor of photographing a wedding that touches me deeply. Addy and Nate’s wedding in the NC mountains was one of them. The artistic details and endearing community made their wedding a joy to photograph.

A Wedding in NC Mountains

The mountains of North Carolina are absolutely breathtaking. I’ve photographed weddings around the world and still appreciate this sweeping landscape. Addy and Nate got married at the end of March. The first signs of spring were just starting to show in the forest around their wedding venue. I loved sneaking away with them for intimate portraits after the ceremony. Walking through the woods, it felt like Addy and Nate were in the world of their own.

There are lots of wedding venues around the North Carolina mountains. Whichever one you choose, make sure it comes with a view. Addy and Nate’s ceremony included a beautiful floral installation framing the mountains sprawling beyond.

Addy and Nate’s Celebration in Banner Elk

Like a lot of couples in 2021, Addy and Nate’s wedding in the NC mountains got rescheduled twice. They remained determined and devoted through it all. Despite some stormy weather, their wedding day came together perfectly.

Addy and Nate’s wedding was full of emotional moments. I like to describe my wedding photography style as candid and endearing. Abby and Nate made creating those images easy. Their videographer, Twenty-One Films, documented the moving moment Addy read Nate’s letter in their wedding video.

The March weather was perfect for the intimate reception on the venue’s patio. Candles and flowers lined the tables. Guests nestled into shawls to listen to moving toasts. Like the rest of the day, the reception had quiet elegance. Everyone could sink into the moment.
